Labor Day .. Balboa Island

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I have a new theory that I am working on with the kids.. So many times I say after the kids wake up lets go somewhere and do something.. but the problem with that was they would go to sleep from 10:00am - 12:30ish.. and by the time I would get them dressed and feed and in the car its now 2pm and it seems like its to late to do anything.. well not anymore, I am going to get them out of the house even if its for an hour or so.. its better than nothing.. So today I told Mark.. its a beautiful day and the kids have never been down to Balboa yet, lets go down there and walk around and go to the pier.. so while they were sleeping we got everything ready, and decided that we would either feed them in the car or when we get down there.. so when they woke up at noon.. I grabbed them and through them in the car and off we went..only once we got off the freeway we didn't seem to get very far.. it seemed that on this beautiful California day everyone else had the same idea of going down to Balboa.. I was so bummed we sat in traffic for about one and half hours.. but finally after finding a parking spot it all seemed worth it...

As we were walking on the pier in the video arcade place they had this photo booth.. and it was only two dollars so I told Mark that I wanted to do it.. and there was this couple infront of us who mentioned they have been waiting for there pictures that they think they fixed it, but its taking a long time.. I didnt care about the wait so we did it.. and then we waited.. and waited.. finally the guy came back over and said they must be jammed up, so he opened it up and gave us ours.. and here it is..
You cant see the kids, but they are there.. we couldnt see that they were getting cut off and the rest of its like to dark.. owell I guess thats what you get for two dollars.. Daddy went and got us these "HUGE" ice cream cones.. they were so big.. Drew didn't like the ice cream and Brody liked it but would cringe when the cold hit his teeth... he mad like a sour face, but came back for more..

Waiting for our "Ice Cream"... As you can see we stuffed the hoods of there cars with our stuff.. water, snacks, keys..ect...
After walking them all over the "Balboa" island and having lunch over by the water we took them down the pier.. They loved it.. the wind was blowing and they loved looking at the water.. it was such a perfect day, I was so glad we did it.. Brody and Drew on the "Balboa Pier".......

Happy "Labor Day"......
